Exhibitions of "Querläufers"
Interferences/Nuits Savoureuses de Belfort, CICV Pierre Schaeffer, Belfort
(14.12.2000 - 20.12.2000)
The 'Interferences' festival took place in in Belfort/France, in the very modern congress hotel Atria, which - sited next to huge military bulwarks from the last centuries - looks like the future had already begun...

The interactive exhibition is shown in the parking deck, one of the rather archaic rooms of the hotel. There's no entry fee, I was told the festival acts as an artistic support for the heavy industry region. In the last days of the festival the place opens in the morning, and school classes are being herded through the exhibition.

This time the installation shows a new sound system: To the rythm of a beat box six different instruments react on one basic color each; different colored movements become sound (people dressed in art black are handicapped). The loudspeakers sound from above, near the visitors, so the installation at the opposite parking place doesn't get disturbed - a sound installation with 400 tubular bells.
